A New Beginning
Harbor Rock Tabernacle held its first church service on November 28, 2010. Two months prior, several groups of people had approached Pastor Paul Rhoads sensing that the Lord was calling His people to begin a new work in southeast Wisconsin, one centered unashamedly on prayer, the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
One of the groups was made up of three men: Garo Injasoulian, Joe VanBree and the late Larry McMullen, who met Paul at the old Golden Keys restaurant in Racine and asked him to pray about a calling to lead the still unformed congregation.
Asking the Lord for His distinct direction as to how He wanted us to proceed, He clearly and quickly opened the doors for the church to be birthed. Within 53 days of the first conversation, after three Prayer Meetings at a donated 2nd floor office space we called “The Upper Room”, Harbor Rock Tabernacle had its inaugural Sunday service, at the ballroom of the Racine Marriott.
We have been blessed from the outset with wonderful, mature believers who have volunteered to serve, teach and set up our church each week. We are humbled by the Lord’s leading and have great anticipation as to how the Lord is going to lead and direct Harbor Rock Tabernacle in the days ahead.
