The Means of Restoration
We believe that despite man’s breach of his relationship with the Lord, that God, in His infinite love and mercy, provided the means of restoration for man, by the salvation offered by His grace through Jesus Christ.
We believe that salvation has been provided for man only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, Whose substitutionary and representative death satisfied God as the propitiation for the sins of man. All who have faith in this redeeming work of Christ are justified, or declared righteous, by God and are reconciled to Him, and are spiritually reborn as new creatures before Him. This new life comes only through faith in Christ, is given by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God, and positions the believer as a son of God and an heir with Christ to God.
We believe that because of universal death through sin, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless born again; and that no amount of good works or morality can help the sinner to take one step toward heaven; but only a new nature imparted from above, coming from the redemption offered by Christ and the new life implanted by the Holy Spirit through the Word, is absolutely essential to salvation.
11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.
28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,
18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
